Electric Stacker Crane Technology Principles And Core Components

Dec 12, 2025

The core of an electric stacker crane consists of four parts: a power system, a lifting mechanism, a traveling mechanism, and a control system. The power system typically uses batteries (such as lead-acid or lithium batteries) to power a hydraulic pump via a motor or directly drive a chain/gear to raise and lower the forks. The lifting mechanism often uses a scissor lift or a three-post structure to ensure stability; the traveling mechanism uses wheeled or rail-based designs to adapt to different ground environments. The control system integrates a PLC or intelligent terminal, which can preset stacking height, traveling path, and even interface with a WMS (Warehouse Management System) to achieve automated operation.
